Self-Serve Classrooms

Created a self-serve training system that simplified onboarding, improved skill development, and clarified promotion readiness. Replaced an unstructured process with a clear, accessible, and easy-to-manage learning platform.

My Role

Project Lead & Instructional Designer

  • Created 9 structured training programs:

    • 3 onboarding pathways for new hires

    • 6 skill-specific and role-transition trainings

  • Migrated and organized resources into Google Classroom for centralized access

  • Built clear syllabi for each program with linked documentation in Confluence

  • Produced instructional videos in Camtasia for each major concept

Key Challenges

  • No existing framework or organized content

  • Needed to identify essential role-based competencies and delivery formats

  • Ensuring consistent, scalable content for multiple job types

Impact

  • Reduced training completion time from 3 - 4 months to 1 month

  • Created transparent promotion pathways based on skills/programs completed
